Feelings are messages from inside you. Happy tells you something is going well. Sad tells you something matters to you. Angry tells you something feels unfair, and scared tells you to watch out. No feeling is wrong or bad - they are all messengers doing their jobs.

Big feelings can feel like storms, but storms pass and so do feelings. There are tricks that help the storm move through faster: slow breaths (smell the flower, blow the candle), naming the feeling out loud, squeezing and releasing your muscles, or stepping away for a quiet minute. The feeling is allowed - you are just choosing what to do while it visits.

Talking about feelings makes them smaller and you stronger. Telling someone I feel left out is braver than pretending not to care, and it gives the people who love you a chance to help. Everyone has storms sometimes - friends, parents, teachers - so asking for help with feelings is always a strong move, never a weak one.
