Communities Working Together

A community is a group of people who live, work, or learn in the same place. Your neighborhood is a community. Your school is a community. Communities can be tiny, like an apartment building, or huge, like a whole city - but they all run on the same fuel: people helping each other.

Look around and you will find community helpers everywhere. Firefighters and paramedics answer emergencies. Librarians keep the doors to a million stories open. Sanitation workers take away what we throw out so streets stay clean. Teachers, mail carriers, doctors, crossing guards - every helper does a piece of the work that makes daily life possible for everyone.

You are part of the team too. Being a good community member means sharing, following the rules that keep everyone safe, and lending a hand when you can. Communities get stronger one kind act at a time, and kid-sized acts count just as much as grown-up ones.
